Fertilising your Sir Walter Lawn
Posted in Lawn Mowing & Feeding on Friday, 22 April 2011
Sir Walter is a high performance soft leaf buffalo turf that requires little fertilising to keep it looking great. To make sure you're getting the most out of your fertilising efforts, we recommend that you follow these tips ...
- Shady areas require less fertilising
- Use a good soil conditioner regularly during spring
- For best results regular applications of fertiliser will keep your lawn looking at its best all year round - the best time to fertilise is during autumn and spring
- And remember that the best type of fertiliser for your precious lawn depends upon your climate, region and soil type, so it's best to speak to your local nursery or trained Sir Walter supplier for their recommendations. Generally speaking, a slow release NPK lawn food will usually give a great result.
Soft Buffalo lawns have a higher than average requirement for Iron, which is a Trace Element which should be found in all quality lawn fertilisers. Your Buffalo turf will need an Iron supplement with an Iron Chelate, or Trace Elements supplement at least once per year to help the lawn maintain it's dark green colour.

There are many fertilisers on the market, all available from your
local care retailer. You can buy Sir Walter Fertiliser online at lawnstore.com.au
